This is an amethyst Divination Rune Set, so all runes included are made of genuine amethyst stones with a runic symbol inscribed on each one. A velvet bag for storing the runes is included, as well as a paper instruction sheet. There has been much research about the runes and where they came from and when, but it seems there is no exact agreement on their past. Runes are often associated with the Norse god, Odin. All the runes I offer are based on the Elder Furthark, "an archaic alphabet and a divinatory system" (www.groveandgrotto.com). This is a very simplified explanation, but for our purposes, necessary. There is much controversy about the blank rune which comes in almost all modern rune sets. The Elder Futhark consisted of 24 runes (no blank). See the website mentioned above for further info about this. To be traditional, you would use just 24 of the 25 runes that come in this set, or you can use all 25. Use your own inner knowing as your guide. You can perform readings for yourself or others or pick one when you want to receive a message for that day or week or month. It's fun to reach into a bag of rune stones to choose your message! ♥

***Again, be aware that no, there has not been a mistake - you will find a blank rune stone in your set ;)  This is common in today's rune sets - you will always find one blank rune in each set, as mentioned above.  Also, these sets are made of natural amethyst stones and each stone will be similar, but different in size, shape and color.
