This has been a best-selling divination book and rune set for over 35 years and all runes included are, I believe, clay stones with a runic symbol inscribed on each one (in red). There has been much research about the runes and where they came from and when, but it seems there is no exact agreement on their past. The runes are often associated with the Norse god, Odin. All the runes I offer are based on the Elder Furthark, "an archaic alphabet and a divinatory system" (www.groveandgrotto.com). This is a very simplified explanation, but for our purposes, necessary. There is much controversy about the blank rune which comes in almost all modern commercial rune sets. The Elder Futhark consisted of 24 runes (no blank rune). See the website mentioned above for further info about this. To be traditional, you would use just 24 of the 25 runes that come in this set, or you can use all 25. Use your own inner knowing as your guide. You can perform readings for yourself or others or pick one when you want to receive a message for that day or week or month. It's fun to reach into a bag of rune stones to choose your message or do your reading! ♥
(Fun fact: many people name this author as the one who created and popularized the controversial blank rune)
***Again, be Aware that no, there has not been a mistake - you will find a blank rune stone in your set ;) This is common in today's rune sets - you will always find one blank rune in each set, as mentioned above.
****Your purchase includes the rune stone set only (which includes the Runes, pouch and guidebook), any other items or objects in the photos are for décor/display only.
