This sandstone piece from Arizona has the look of picture jasper, but is is not. It has a grainy feel to it - very earthy. Each stone is different and each one looks like a little landscape. Sandstone brings balance, stability and groundedness, uncovers truth, is rejuvenating (recharging your energy), helps to accept change, decreases anger, is great for Shamanic journeying and physically is said to help heal eyesight, fingernails, hair and also broken bones and joints. It is created over millennia as sand is put under high pressure and heat as it moves down into the earth's crust (and sometimes comes back up to the surface again and back down under). Sandstone is composed of feldspar, quartz, and sometimes clay or silt. Iron oxides in sandstone give it its color, the more iron oxide the more color it has.
