Baoding (pronounced bow-ding' - bow, as in taking a bow) balls were first made 1000's of years ago (originally used during the Ming Dynasty). There are different types but these are the Baoding balls with chimes inside that ring when you use them, enhancing the experience. You use the Baoding balls by putting both in one hand and carefully rotating them repeatedly. The benefits are many. They can be used to for strengthening hand muscles, stress relief and relaxation. Baoding balls are also said to stimulate acupressure points in the hands, restoring and enhancing the flow of chi (life force) in the body. Per Isabelle Pikorn of insighttimer.com "Though practice with Baoding balls at first appears limited to the hands and fingers, the nimble rolling and rotating motions are understood to balance the flow of blood and vital energy along far-reaching meridian lines [energy pathways in the body, through which chi (life force) flows], benefitting the entire body. Pikorn also states that Baoding balls are not only useful and appealing visually, but in Feng Shui can also be seen as art pieces that when displayed bring a "cleansing energy of harmony and well-being." Another interesting point she made is that people with ADHD or autism can also use Baoding balls "as "fidget toys" to support self-regulation and ease anxiety." The Yin Yang symbol "represents the belief that everything in the Universe consists of two forces that are opposing, but complementary.  Yin Yang philosophy states that "the Universe and everything in it are both constant and cyclical." Yin Yang is all about balanceCheck out the other two designs in the store.
